A careers education programme is offered from Year 9 and access to careers and work related learning information is through the internet and information provided by Connexions. The aim of this programme is not only to make pupils aware of employment opportunities and the necessary academic qualification, but also to create an awareness of personal qualities valued by employers, and to address the outcomes of Every Child Matters. Pupils from Year 9 onwards engage with Connexions and have a Personal Adviser. Pupils will take part in training days and off site visits to careers days and vocational training.

If appropriate, pupils work towards the AQA Preparation for Working Life qualification. Pupils also have the opportunity to take part in a Work Experience placement.
